Routines in Children/ Adults

Routines  are very important to all Children it helps them feel safe when there is a consistent and predictable routine in place, develop life skills and build healthy habits and stops parental stress

For toddlers and pre-schoolers, you could have routines for:
  • getting ready in the morning.
  • eating meals.
  • spending time playing and talking together.
  • reading books or telling stories.
  • brush teeth
  • having quiet time and going to bed at night.

Inconsistency of routines can cause anxiety and frustration, which is often expressed in what adults perceive as challenging behaviour
